Becki Coakley strives to not only bring to life gorgeous designs, but they also work to uplift, strengthen, and encourage the women who wear our shoes. We aim to do that not only through our design, but in every interaction we have with you.

THE BOSS

(FULL STORY) On a warm spring day in Charleston, South Carolina, my mother, aunt, siblings and I went for our regular shopping trip to the Navy Exchange. My dad was in the military and I treasured these times shopping with my mother. She loved shoes as much as I did, and at four years old I shared her obsession. On this particular day, as soon as I entered the store, I ran to the shoe department. The most beautiful shoes caught my eye! (I honestly don’t remember what they looked like since it was so long ago, but I imagine they were similar to my mom’s favorite pair – high heels with a mauve leather strap across the toes). I couldn’t take my eyes off of them, and at that moment, I had to try them on. I said in my little four-year-old voice, “Mommy, I want this shoe!” My mother was amused by my fascination and persistence, and let me try them on. I was absolutely hooked. She could see how in love I was when I cried to keep them, and she actually agreed to buy them for me! I felt so special being able to pick out my own pretty shoes – my mom trusted my taste even then! That day a unique bond began between my mother and I over our love of unique and classic shoes.As I got older, I never forgot my dream to design shoes, but I thought it just wasn’t in the cards for me. I thought I needed a more stable career path, so I worked various corporate jobs. Unfortunately, none of those jobs fulfilled my soul. They just felt empty. I needed to find something that I was passionate about. And then in 2012, everything changed.

My chic and stylish mother passed away and things finally started coming into perspective for me. She inspired me to make her proud by fulfilling my purpose as a shoe designer. In 2015, I established my own line, and I honor her every day in all of the decisions I make for my business, and even in the logo and the styles of my shoes.

The letter A in our logo is for her name, Angie. The 3 horizontal lines represent the most important thing in her life –her 3 children. My name is on the last line as her 3rd child, and our last name, Coakley, runs along the outside of the logo.
